Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces high-quality dark or semisweet chocolate, melted
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine cream, milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Heat over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until sugar dissolves and mixture simmers.
- Remove from heat and stir in melted chocolate until smooth.
- Let cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Once churned, transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to set.
- Scoop and enjoy!
Note: If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can also freeze the mixture in a shallow metal pan, stirring every 30 minutes until desired consistency is reached (about 2-3 hours).
